The Koala is a tree-dwelling, plant-eating (with a pouch to raise its young) marsupial native to Australia. Their closest living relatives are wombats. The Koala´s feet are specially adapted for grasping and climbing. Quite correctly, in the CollectA model there is no claw on the largest toe of the hind foot, which is opposable to the others for grasping. Also, well carved with this CollectA figurine and one of the easiest ways to identify the sex of a koala is to look for the dark brown gland found in the center of the white chests of mature breeding males. Females and young males before breeding have a smooth white breast.
